Yuri Tamer is one of the Middle East’s foremost Director names in Studio Entertainment Programming, armed with a seasoned background and countless hours of eye pleasing directorial credits under his belt. His signature includes directing Top-Rated talk-shows, Live concerts, Lifestyles and Variety programming. Over the years, Yuri’s talented and effortless touch in directing landed him many consultancy senior roles having worked for high ranking TV clients in several countries including Lebanon, Qatar, Dubai and Egypt. Adept in creating and implementing full ‘Turn-Key’, Studio Driven TV concepts complete with Cameras, Set Design, Lighting & Studio environments planning. His area of competence also includes developing visual treatments for LIVE morning/evening programs, segment shows and TV Format adaptation.
In 2005, StudioVision in Lebanon recruited Yuri to serve as ‘Senior Director’ where he was one of two senior directors in charge of developing aesthetic and visual treatments for all StudioVision productions. During his years at StudioVision, Yuri polished his directorial skills putting out several, daily hours of Live and Interactive programming for high ranking TV clients such as Rotana Music and Rotana Khalijiah, Al Hurra News Channel & MTV Lebanon. In 2010, Yuri was appointed the director In charge of the Internationally distributed Format ‘The Doctors’ produced in two different versions for both MTV Lebanon & Dubai TV.
In 2012, Yuri was asked by Al Jazeera TV in Doha, Qatar to serve as ‘Creative Consultant’ on creating new concepts for their News bulletins and segments. His constant stream of work never waivered and Yuri became one of the most sought-after Directors in the Middle East. Yuri directed the Format series ‘Sing it’ (Sony/Talpa) for Future TV. Later In 2013, Yuri laid the studioenvironment for Dr. Chef (MBC Group’s first Arab-language production on MBC 4) where he directed 80 daily, one-hour episodes.In 2014, Yuri also served as Director in Charge on the formatting of the successful talk-showHiwar Al Dar for Abu Dhabi One
